Bengaluru, June 29, 2026 –The Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), in association with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), and Jungle Lodges & Resorts Ltd. (JLR), has successfully concluded the Gujarat Series B2B Roadshows, held from 24th to 27th June 2026 across Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat.

The series witnessed the participation of over 600 buyers across four cities, engaging with 40 tourism stakeholders from Karnataka. Ltd., WelcomHeritage Shivavilas Palace Hampi, and Woodstock Resorts.

Adding vibrancy to the roadshows, engaging activities such as a Quiz on Karnataka’s tourist destinations and a raffle draw were conducted at each location. Winners were awarded with complimentary stay vouchers and gift hampers, creating excitement and further strengthening the connect between Karnataka’s tourism stakeholders and the buyer community.

Speaking on the occasion, K. Syama Raju, President – Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), said: “The Gujarat Series Roadshows have been a landmark initiative in connecting Karnataka’s tourism stakeholders with the vibrant travel trade community of Gujarat. With over 600 buyers participating across four cities, the response has been truly encouraging. Gujarat is one of the most important feeder markets for us in terms of domestic tourism, and strengthening this relationship is vital to sustaining growth. Building on the momentum of the recently concluded Discover Chikkamagaluru showcase, which highlighted Karnataka’s coffee heritage and cultural richness, these roadshows further reinforce our commitment to promoting Karnataka as a preferred destination for both domestic and international travelers.”

Adding to this, Jagadeesh H., Secretary – Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), emphasized: “These roadshows exemplify the strength of government–private partnerships in tourism promotion. Collaboration between state agencies and private stakeholders ensures that such initiatives deliver maximum impact. B2B meets like these not only create new linkages but also enhance visibility for Karnataka across key feeder markets. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this momentum with upcoming domestic roadshows planned for this calendar year in Mumbai (Navi Mumbai, Mumbai), Rajasthan, Punjab & NCR (Jaipur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram), Kolkata, UP, Bihar, Odisha & Chhattisgarh (Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Raipur), Tamil Nadu & Kerala (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram), Central India & Maharashtra (Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Indore), and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana (Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad). These engagements will further strengthen Karnataka’s domestic outreach and reinforce our position as a leading tourism destination.”

The Karnataka Tourism Society extends heartfelt gratitude to all participants, partners, and stakeholders whose support made the Gujarat Series a resounding success.

Bengaluru, 26thMarch 2026: The Explore Kalyan Karnataka (North Karnataka) Knowledge Sharing Workshop & B2B Meeting, organized by the Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS)in association with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, concluded today at Holiday Inn Bengaluru Racecourse by IHG with resounding success.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Trilok Chandra, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department; Ms. Sandhya Haridas, Director, India Tourism – Bengaluru; Mr. Syama Raju, President, KTS; Mr. S. Mahalingiaha, Vice President, KTS; Mr. Jagadeesh, Secretary, KTS; along with KTS Office Bearers and stakeholders.

The initiative was part of a broader effort to promote Karnataka’s lesser-known destinations by creating awareness, fostering collaboration, and enhancing the visibility of the Kalyan Karnataka region as a unique tourism hub. The region — comprising Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, and Ballari — offers a rich blend of heritage, spirituality, crafts, and natural landscapes that remain relatively untapped in mainstream tourism circuits.

Highlights included:

Destination Showcases spotlighting Bidar Fort, Bahmani tombs, Kalburgi Fort, Jama Masjid, and Vijayanagara-era heritage sites.

Spiritual & Cultural Landmarks such as Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Sahib, Narasimha Jhira Cave Temple, and Sharan Basaveshwara Temple.

Crafts & Traditions with a live demonstration of Bidriware handicrafts, globally acclaimed for their intricate silver inlay work.

Nature & Wildlife experiences including blackbuck sightings in Bidar and eco-tourism potential in Ballari and Koppal.

The program featured destination presentations, seller showcases, B2B meetings, and networking sessions with over 150 buyers and 20+ sellers from across Karnataka.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from leading tourism and hospitality stakeholders including: Clarks Inn – Hampi, Enrise by Sayaji – Kalburgi, Evolve Back – Hampi, Flymego Tours – Bidar, GI-Trips – Bidar, Hampi Feathers – Koppal, Hamsa Tours & Travels – Hospet, Heritage Resort Hampi – Vijayanagar, Hotel Om Sai – Basavakalyana, Hyatt Place – Hampi, India Tourism Bengaluru, Inspira by SRS Resort & Convention – Bidar, Jungle Lodges & Resorts, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, Kishkinda Heritage Resort – Sanapur, Matri Heritage – Hampi, Pai’s Relax Inn – Hospet, Royal Orchid Kireeti – Hampi, Sidra World Tours & Travels – Kalaburagi, The Fortune by Swathi Group, Vijayashree Resort – Hampi, Vintage Retreat Resort – Bidar, and WelcomHeritageShivavilas Palace – Hampi.

Dr. Trilok Chandra, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department, emphasized “The Kalyan Karnataka region, with its rich heritage and layered history, deserves greater visibility in India’s tourism landscape. Recognizing this, the Government has initiated several programs under the Karnataka Tourism Policy 2024–29, focusing on destination development, heritage conservation, and community participation. These efforts will enhance awareness of the region, strengthen stakeholder collaboration, and create meaningful livelihood opportunities for local communities — outcomes that will ensure balanced regional growth.”

Mr. Syama Raju, President – Karnataka Tourism Society, added, “Kalyan Karnataka is a region of immense potential. By bringing together stakeholders under one platform, we are not only promoting destinations but also empowering local communities through tourism. The enthusiastic participation of buyers and stakeholders reinforces our vision to position the region as a vibrant tourism hub. We expect this engagement to translate into stronger trade interest, with tour operators including Kalyan Karnataka in their itineraries, thereby boosting brand positioning and expanding tourism circuits across Karnataka. This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth, and we foresee balanced regional development as more circuits are diversified, creating livelihood opportunities and strengthening Karnataka’s tourism narrative.”

Mr. D. Venkatesan, Regional Director – India Tourism, South, remarked “The Ministry of Tourism is proud to support initiatives that highlight lesser-known circuits like Kalyan Karnataka. This region, with its forts, temples, crafts, and living traditions, represents the diversity of India’s tourism offering. By engaging the travel trade through workshops and B2B meetings, we are ensuring that destinations such as Bidar, Kalaburagi, and Ballari find their rightful place in itineraries and promotions. Such initiatives align with the Dekho Apna Desh campaign, encourage domestic travelers to explore hidden gems, and generate livelihood opportunities for artisans and local communities. They also strengthen stakeholder collaboration and contribute to the long-term goal of balanced regional development, ensuring that Kalyan Karnataka emerges as a vibrant hub of heritage, culture, and sustainable tourism.”

The Karnataka Tourism Society expressed gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and reaffirmed its mission to promote inclusive and sustainable tourism development across the state.

Shri. K.V. Thrilok Chandra, IAS,Secretary to the Tourism Department, Govt. of Karnataka addressing the gathering said, “Karnataka offers immense opportunities for investors and stakeholders across eco-tourism, heritage conservation, adventure tourism, and hospitality infrastructure. Through our Tourism Policy 2024–29, we are committed to creating a robust ecosystem that balances growth with sustainability, while ensuring community participation and global visibility for Karnataka as ‘One State, Many Worlds’. The policy is anchored on nine strategic pillars—ranging from infrastructure development and skill training to sustainable tourism and digital initiatives. We have identified 25 tourism themes and 44 priority projects, backed by subsidies, concessions, and incentives to encourage private participation. Our goal is to attract over ₹7,800 crore in direct investments, create 1.5 lakh jobs, and showcase Karnataka in at least 50 global tourism events. By strengthening PPP models and institutional mechanisms, we aim to transform Karnataka into one of the top three states for domestic tourism and among the top five for foreign tourist visits by 2030.”

Mr. S. Mahalingaiah,Vice President of KTS said, “Over the past year, KTS has worked tirelessly to strengthen Karnataka’s visibility through B2B roadshows across Coimbatore, Cochin, Madurai, Salem, Indore, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik, and Pune. These initiatives connected over 1,200 buyers with 70+ stakeholders, creating new linkages across regions. Equally significant was the success of KITE 2025, organised in February 2025, which brought together 130 exhibitors, 100 international buyers, 250 domestic buyers, and extensive coverage by international and national media. At CONNECT 2026, we were pleased to felicitate the exhibitors, members, and officials whose tireless contributions made KITE 2025 a landmark event. Looking ahead, our focus is on expanding outreach through programs like Discover Bidar, Explore Kalyana Karnataka, and upcoming roadshows in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Gujarat. These efforts will ensure Karnataka’s tourism sector continues to grow inclusively and sustainably.”

Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Shri H.K. Patil, while delivering the keynote address said, “Karnataka as a beautiful destination has much to offer. The recent discovery of the Lakundi gold treasure reminds us that Lakkundi was once a major economic and cultural center under the KalyanaChalukyas, renowned for its 150 temples and inscriptions. Many such places across Karnataka stand as living proof of the state’s rich heritage. For the inclusive development of tourism, all stakeholders must join hands. While the Government can initiate and facilitate a few key measures, it is through the collective strength and creativity of stakeholders that we can multiply these efforts manifold. That is why we are pushing forward the PPP model—so that private enterprise, community participation, and government support can converge to unlock Karnataka’s full tourism potential.”

CONNECT – 2026 Bengaluru concluded with a call to action: to build bridges, strengthen networks, and showcase Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to the world. The felicitation program for KITE 2025 contributors stood as a symbolic gesture of partnership between government and industry, reinforcing the shared commitment to elevate Karnataka’s tourism on the global stage.

Reflecting on the success, Mr. K. Syama Raju, President, Karnataka Tourism Society, said:
“This Central India Roadshow Series has been a landmark initiative for Karnataka Tourism Society. By engaging directly with the travel trade in Indore, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik, and Pune, we have built bridges of collaboration and showcased Karnataka’s unmatched diversity. With strong partnerships, we are confident of creating new pathways for sustainable tourism growth.”

The initiative builds on the momentum of the recently concluded Southern India Roadshows, which drew over 500 buyers across four cities. Looking ahead, KTS is preparing forward-looking programmes including the Explore Bidar & Kalburgi Destination Orientation, the Discover Bidar FAM Tour, a Guide Training Programme at Bidar, and the Discover Chikmagalur Standalone B2B Event to highlight Karnataka’s coffee country and eco-tourism circuits.

In addition, KTS will be organizing B2B Roadshows in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the upcoming month, further strengthening regional tourism linkages. Later this year, key cities of Gujarat will host B2B Roadshows in August 2026, expanding Karnataka’s outreach to western India’s travel trade community.

With strong participation and institutional support, the Central India B2B Roadshow Series has reaffirmed Karnataka’s role as a leader in innovative, sustainable, and inclusive tourism promotion, paving the way for future collaborations and destination development.

Karnataka Tourism Society also known as KTS was formed in the year 2019. It was formed with the main objective of promoting the state of Karnataka through all it’s stakeholders and show case Karnataka as an important destination in the tourist map of India.

Karnataka is known for its diverse attractions and opportunities that it offers to travelers. The state has everything to offer other than snow clad mountains. It is indeed a traveler’s paradise.

KTS has been known for its partnership programmes with the Governments both at the State and the Central level. They have over a short period of time managed to create a distinct identity for themselves by getting some of their key programmes recognised

Needless to say that during these difficult times has taken the initiative to organise a vaccination drive for all concerned in the travel and tourism industry. This is indeed a commendable feat for the KTS and has been lauded by all.

We are committed to the states growth in travel and tourism and we are delighted with all the support that the Government has extended to us. As an industry tourism is one of the largest employers in the country, demonstrating the power of tourism and we are very certain that with the continued support that KTS is receiving, “we are on the way top as the most sought after destinations not only in the India but also overseas”, says Mr. Shyama Raju, the President of the KTS.

KT aims to promote destination(s) not only to the stakeholders within the state but also those outside thus enabling a wider depth in tourism related products for everybodys’ benefit. “Over a period of time we would be promoting the state, its attractions and the opportunities that it offers to international markets too”, says the Hon Secretary Mr. S. Mahalingaiah, Director of Skyway International Travels.

Bengaluru, February 19, 2026:The Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, successfully hosted CONNECT – 2026 Bengaluru, a premier platform designed to foster dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and generate actionable ideas for advancing Karnataka’s tourism and hospitality sector.

CONNECT 2026 was organised as an interactive session with travel, tourism, and hospitality stakeholders from Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru South (Ramanagara), Kolar, Chikkaballapura, and Tumakuru districts. The program also included a felicitation segment recognising contributors to the success of the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE 2025), whose efforts elevated Karnataka’s visibility on the global tourism stage.

The event was graced by the presence of:

Shri. H.K. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Justice, Human Rights, Parliamentary Affairs & Legislation, and Tourism

Shri. K.V. Thrilok Chandra, IAS, Secretary to the Tourism Department, Govt. of Karnataka

Shri. Prashant Kumar Mishra, IAS, Managing Director, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.

Shri. Prashant Shankhinamath, IFS, Managing Director, Jungle Lodges & Resorts Ltd.

Alongside government leaders, KTS office bearers and stakeholders from across the tourism and hospitality sector of the participating districts were present, underscoring the collaborative spirit of CONNECT.

Mr. K. Syama Raju, President of KTS in his welcome address said, “CONNECT is about building bridges—between destinations and communities, between government and industry, and between tradition and innovation. Our collective mission is to showcase Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to the world, while creating opportunities that empower local communities and strengthen the tourism ecosystem.”

Shri.
