Salem, 28thNovember 2025: The Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) continued its Regional Market Expansion Campaign with the third leg of the Destination Promotion B2B Roadshow in Salem. Following successful events in Coimbatore, Kochi, and Madurai, the Salem roadshow marked the culmination of a four-city tour across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, aimed at positioning Karnataka as India’s premier tourism destination for the current travel season.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), Jungle Lodges & Resorts Ltd. (JLR), and the South India Hotels & Restaurants Association (SIHRA), theSalem roadshow brought together 42 leading stakeholders from Karnataka’s tourism sector.
The event held in Radisson Hotel-Salemwitnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 100 buyers from Salem’s travel trade fraternity, including tour operators, travel agents, and hospitality leaders. Interactive sessions, destination presentations, and promotional video screenings showcased Karnataka’s diverse tourism circuits—from UNESCO World Heritage Sites and heritage towns to wildlife sanctuaries, eco-tourism retreats, pristine beaches, and adventure destinations.

It’s a strategic step to deepen regional partnerships and showcase the state’s unmatched tourism potential.”

Venkatesan, Regional Director (South), Indiatourism Chennai, said “With its diverse portfolio of tourism products, Karnataka is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic states for both leisure and business travel. Domestic tourism remains the backbone of our tourism economy, and initiatives like these roadshows are vital to unlocking its full potential. The initiative seeks to enhance inter-state tourism cooperation and strengthen domestic tourism promotion under the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign of the Ministry of Tourism. These roadshows offer an excellent platform for stakeholders to reconnect with the travel trade and engage meaningfully with prospective tourists.”
The campaign was successfully launched in Coimbatore on 25thNovember with a turnout of 150 buyers, followed by Kochi on 26thNovember engaging 200 buyers, and Madurai on 27thNovember with 120 buyers. The Salem roadshow, with 100 buyers, concluded the series, ensuring strong regional outreach across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Each city roadshow will highlight Karnataka’s unique tourism offerings—ranging from hill stations and heritage circuits to wildlife reserves and eco-adventure experiences—ensuring strong regional outreach across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
In its next phase, KTS plans to expand the campaign to state capitals and Tier-2 cities across Central India, further strengthening Karnataka’s national tourism footprint and trade engagement.
